Our Team
Bryce Wilson, co-founder of Brymal Plants
Bryce is a proud first-generation descendant of the Morongo tribe, a federally recognized tribe that brings together the Cahuilla, Serrano, Cupeño, Luiseño, and Chemehuevi people. His roots are firmly planted in Ramona, CA, a small town on Kuumeyaay land in East County San Diego, where he was born and raised. During his childhood, Bryce found peace in both computer programming and exploring the "Cleveland National Forest", using these interests as an escape from youthful pressures. His love for the sciences guided him to pursue a degree in computer science at Northern Arizona University. Yet, his deep connection to his hometown and a mission to care for "San Diego" drew him back home. Together with his partner, Malia Lozano, Bryce founded Brymal Plants.
Drawing on his unique blend of technical skills and a deep-rooted connection to California's native flora and fauna, Bryce leads our R&D and keeps us anchored in our guiding principles. Bryce is the visionary who brings our projects to life. His approach ensures that our project designs cherish the land and create beautiful, sustainable landscapes.
Malia Lozano, co-founder of Brymal Plants
Malia's roots are firmly planted in the world of organic farming, horticulture, and landscaping. Raised on a rural organic farm by her mother, and her father, a Filipino immigrant who owned a tree trimming business. Malia learned from a young age how to cultivate and care for a diverse range of plants. This hands-on experience also instilled in her invaluable life skills that she carries with her to this day.
Malia's passion for the sciences led her to Point Loma Nazarene University, where she majored in Biology and Chemistry, becoming a proud first-generation university graduate. Her academic journey allowed her to cultivate life not just in the soil, but also in the laboratory. This blend of practical skills and scientific understanding enables her to peel back the intricate layers of biological problems, providing profound and practical insights.
At Brymal Plants, Malia applies her scientific knowledge and her love for nature to tissue culture quality plants and manage projects. Her goal is to enrich both our urban and wild communities, creating a healthier and more beautiful environment for all.
