Asclepias eriocarpa, commonly known as Woollypod milkweed, is a herbaceous perennial plant belonging to the Apocynaceae family. Native to western North America, this species typically grows 1 to 3 feet tall with a upright habit. The leaves are lanceolate, and covered in fine hairs, providing a distinct silvery-gray appearance.

During the flowering season, which occurs in late spring to early summer, Woollypod milkweed produces umbels of small, fragrant, pink-white to pale yellow flowers. These flowers are arranged in clusters and act as an important nectar source for various pollinators, particularly butterflies and bees.

Asclepias eriocarpa is an essential host plant for monarch butterflies, serving as a site for egg-laying and caterpillar food source. It is well-adapted to a variety of habitats, including chaparral, coastal scrub, and grasslands, and is frequently used in ecological restoration, native plant gardens, and wildlife-friendly landscapes to support pollinator populations and promote biodiversity.
