Baccharis sarothroides, commonly known as Desert Broom, is a drought-tolerant shrub native to the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. It is characterized by its upright, branching growth habit, reaching heights of up to ten feet. The plant features slender, wiry stems adorned with small, linear leaves that give it a broom-like appearance. In autumn, Desert Broom produces an abundance of tiny, white to pale pink flowers, which give way to fluffy seed heads resembling cotton. This resilient shrub thrives in arid desert environments, including desert scrub, washes, and rocky slopes, where it plays a crucial role in stabilizing soils and providing habitat for wildlife.Baccharis sarothroides, commonly known as Desert Broom, is a drought-tolerant shrub native to the southwestern United States and northern Mexico.
