Trichostema parishii, commonly known as Woolly Bluecurls, is a distinctive perennial herb native to the coastal and chaparral regions of California. This herbaceous plant is characterized by its woolly, gray-green foliage and unique blue-violet flowers that resemble curled threads, giving rise to its evocative common name. Woolly Bluecurls typically grow in dense clusters, forming compact mounds that provide habitat and refuge for local wildlife species. Thriving in dry, well-drained soils and sunny exposures, this drought-tolerant species blooms from late spring to early summer, attracting pollinators such as bees and butterflies with its nectar-rich flowers.
